    Default Stonechats

Any Stonechats seen this year in Caithness ? They have had a bad time for the past few Winters and numbers appear remarkably low compared to the years up 2011.

Major crash after the 2 bad winters but some are slowly appearing in places. Dunnet Head would be the best bet, 2 males have been singing there this week.
    Away with the birds

    Default Well it is........

Not really an answer to your question as such,
but where I did see stonechats regularly in previous years was on Taroul Moss, in the bushes alongside the road (between Bilbster Forest and the Knapperfield junction), when cycling by.
(Also whinchats too, in fact quite a variety of small birds there.)
Alas, I haven't cycled that way so far this year.
