Does anyone know what happened on the runway at glasgow airport? We had to be diverted to Edinburgh because there was a crash on it, or a jumbo jet broke down on it, or there was a strike. All we know is there were no landings and we were nearly flown to manchester. what a long long day

Passengers were evacuated from a plane on Glasgow Airport's runway following an emergency when the cabin filled with smoke during take off.
Four people were taken to hospital with chest and hip injuries and 13 others received medical treatment at the scene. Nobody is thought to have been seriously injured. Most of the injuries occurred while passengers were using emergency chutes to leave the plane.
Emergency services were alerted at around 7.40am on Friday to the incident. Jet2.com said smoke was detected in the cabin of the plane during take off, which prompted the emergency evacuation.
It is understood all 189 passengers on the flight were able to get off using the emergency chutes. The Boeing 737-800 was due to fly to Alicante in Spain on Friday morning.
Glasgow Airport suspended all flights until 10.40am, which forced the cancellation of five flights and saw 14 outbound services delayed.
The airfield later reopened and the majority of flights on Friday afternoon ran without any issues.
One passenger, Natalie Crawford, from Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, was on the Jet2.com flight.
She said: "It was a scary experience. Just as the plane was about to lift off, there was a strong smell of smoke and the cabin instantly filled up.
"What made it worse was the lights were out because it was an early morning flight. Myself and my family were going for a long weekend to Benidorm for my dad’s 50th.
"At the moment we are sitting in the Glasgow Airport lounge as everything is left on the plane — bags, money and passports. Although we’re all ok it has been a scary experience."
Another, Graham Divers, told STV that he saw smoke "swirling around " the cabin around 15 seconds into take off, as the plane's engines began to engage.
A Jet2.com spokeswoman said: "The airport is now open and flights are operating as normal. The majority of passengers who were travelling on the affected flight wish to continue with their journey and will depart Glasgow at 3pm arriving into Alicante at 7.15pm.
"We would like to apologise to our customers for the disruption caused and are focused on getting them on their holiday as quickly as possible."
A dedicated customer service line for those affected was set up on 0800 014 8914.
A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said: "We are currently dealing with an ongoing incident at Glasgow Airport involving a 737 aircraft following reports of smoke within the cabin.
"Emergency services are in attendance and the passengers have been evacuated as a precaution."
