Thread: Great Spotted Woodpecker

  1. #1

    Default Great Spotted Woodpecker

Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming in Dunnet Forest yesterday. Are they breeding there now? They have become commoner in the north of the County of late rather than just being seen in the Berriedale area.

    Pterodroma

They have not bred there as far as I know but there is no reason why they should not. One spent most of the winter in Dunnet on bird feeders. Maybe it has flitted to the forest.

We have one (hope there are 2) at Thrumster - comes to feeders for fat balls and can be heard drumming
