Jailed for prison call to ex

A PRISONER, who ignored a court ban and telephoned his ex-partner, has had 337 days added to his sentence.
Gary Thomson, 41, was ordered not to contact Carol-Anne Fraser after he was jailed for six in January, for assaulting her at a Wick nightclub.
But on March 22, he telephoned her from prison.
The call breached a no-contact court order and earned Thomson, 41, the extended sentence, yesterday.
Thomson who was living at Shillinghill, Wick, at the time, admitted assaulting Ms Fraser at the town’s Waterfront nightspot in December.
The court heard then that the accused wanted to talk about their relationship but Ms Fraser didn’t. Thomson grabbed hold of her clothing and pushed her against a wall.
Sheriff Andrew Berry also imposed a fresh non-harassment order on Thomson, yesterday baning him, indefinitely, from contacting Ms Fraser, by any means - so that she would have protection.
