Queen Mother's Highland home makes award bid
THE Castle of Mey is biding to get grading under the Green Tourist Awards.
The late Queen Mother’s home which attracts thousands of visitors each year is introducing a range of energy-saving measure aimed at making it one of the greenest castles in Scotland.
More efficient lights, underfloor heat pumps and recycling, are among the measures being taken at the trust-administered castle which frequently plays host to environmental champion, Prince Charles.
