Whilst copying some files, my I-Pod Classic 160 gb has developed what appears to be a terminal fault.
The screen froze and I reset it using the normal holding "Menu" & "Set" buttons, which produced a multi-language welcome screen.
I selected English, but then found that my entire music collection had vanished.
The display showed "0 Kb free" and Music Folder showed "No Music" all the other folders, which I never used, also showed no files

I started I-Tunes Version 11.0.1.12) but programme does not recognise I-Pod as a device.
I realised then that I had a major problem and tried to reset I-pod to factory settings, which it seemed to let me do. But I-tunes still does not recognise it as a device.

I then tries to check it with Windows explorer, and although it "sees" it as Disk H, it is reporting that there are O bytes used & 0 bytes free.
I then tried to reformat it (as suggested on another forum) but it just will not do it.
Enclosed are some screen grabs of my attempts to format.
Any suggestions?
