Accused of wielding weapon several times
A NORTH man is facing a cosh assault charge
John Mackay, 64, pleaded not guilty when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court today.
The charge alleges he struck Stephen Czryt, several times with the weapon at his home in the town’s Robert Street, yesterday.
Mackay, of Stewart Crescent, Thrumster, near Wick, also denies having an offensive weapon, and cannabis resin in his possession.
The accused was granted conditional bail and will return to court for his trial on May 15.
