Wondering if anyone on here can help...when trying to srart up laptop i am getting the dreaded bsod. I think the error code is PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA but the screen only displaysfor a few seconds before it shuts down. recently uninstalled AVG free as it was asking for user no or some such then tried to reinstall but it wouldn't finish loading. I then tried to create a restore point but that was no use then i used samsung recovery 4. I suspect that I have created the problem...what I need to know now is how to fix it or is this something I should leave to the experts?Any help welcome.

Hi,
Have seen a few of these in my time repairing pcand laptops, most common cause is a bad sector in the hard drive, usually in the master boot sector, it blue screens due to not being able to read the boot data,
You would need to have the hard replaced,
Mick
not usually
if the MBR is gone then windows cant load so no BSoD. the OS is not running.....
safemode & chkdsk is the way to go
or pop it inan external cradle of another PC
