Nightclub assault accused gets chance to behave

A YOUNG mother, who assaulted a nightclub patron was yesterday given a chance to demonstrate she can behave.
Zoe Gardner, 20, pleaded guilty when she appeared at Wick Justice of the Peace Court yesterday.
The Justices of the Peace were told that that the incident, at Wick’s Waterfront nightclub, on June 24, was triggered by a difference over a missing purse and escalated.
Gardner of 5 Sinclair Terrace, Latheronwheel grabbed Laura Miller by her hair and punched her.
Sentence was deferred for six months during which she must behave.


Driver misjudged exit from kerb

DRIVER Alexander Thomson pulled away from the kerb too soon for a motor cyclist coming behind him and a collision followed.
Thomson, 47, admitted careless driving and was fined £180. He also incurred four penalty points for the offence which occurred in Bridge Street, Wick, on August 6, last year.
The cyclist escaped with a grazed knee. Thomson, a first offender, of 6 Gowrie Place, Wick, was said to have "misjudged the situation".
