UK horse owners have had to get their horses passported at great expense to stop the Europeans unintentionally eating meat that has had banned medicines administered to it.
With the vet and registration fees each horse has cost its owners on average £100 each. A nice little earner for anyone involved in it and some extra for the tax and VAT man to boot.
Why has this been done if it has not always been known that quite a lot of our horses end up in the human food chain?
But it does not stop unscrupulous people putting them into the food chain anyway. A waste of money for horse owners.
