    Default keyboard buttons

Can you buy keyboard buttons to replace the letters that have worn off?

Buy a new keyboard and carefully trace all the letters and numbers from it then painstakingly transfer them to the old keyboard using tippex or (something similar) being very careful not to slip and gum up the keys.

    Simple huh?

Sorry it is raining and I'm bored.

    Hi Katarina,

I've just 'googled' this and you can buy replacement stickers off Amazon. See attached link.

    I hope this helps,

given that you can buy a new keyboard from Amazon for £2.29 why would you want to?

    Default Keyboard Buttons

    Hi outsidethebox,

Katarina asked if she could replace her keyboard buttons that had lost their lettering, her question - not mine. Of course she could replace the keyboard, even if its a laptop. If she chooses not to, stick on lettering seems a quick solution (£4.49, with free postage and packing).

If you're talking about laptops, you can often buy individual keys on Ebay but you have to be quite careful removing the old key, as it's easy to wreck the connecting parts. If you have a few missing or needing replaced it might be cheaper to buy a complete keyboard, depending on the make & model.

They're called keycaps (just google it) and depending on the type it's sometimes cheaper to buy a new keyboard. Unless you're using a mechancial, gaming or specialist keyboard of course.
