    Default Wick man jailed

Four months and a nightclub ban

A WICK man, who assaulted stewards at a Wick nightclub, was jailed for four months today by a sheriff describing his conduct as "wholly inappropriate".
The accused, unemployed Donald McPhee, 37, was also banned from the nightclub for two years.
Trouble flared as McPhee, of 20 Traill Street, Castletown, was being escorted from the Waterfront nightspot in the early hours of November 24. He was "unhappy" about being ejected and lashed out at doorman Alan Campbell, punching him on the head.
As they reached the entrance, McPhee assaulted colleague Martin Henderson in a similar way and began fighting with police arresting him.
David Barclay, prosecuting, said: " At one stage there was a clash of heads, but fortunately it didn't result in any injury."
Sheriff Andrew Berry, who referred to McPhee's record of assault and bail breaches, said that prison was the only appropriate sentence.
