The force is with you says Scottish survey on confidence
LEVELS of public confidence in Northern Constabulary are the highest in Scotland according to data published today. Respondents to the Scottish Crime and Justice Survey were asked how confident they were in their local police force's ability to undertake specific aspects of their work, principally relating to detecting, investigating and preventing crime.
Respondents indicated that they are highly confident in police in the Highlands and Islands to respond quickly to calls, deal with incidents, investigate crime and catch those responsible.
Northern Constabulary's detection rates are the highest ever at 67% (2011-12).
Chief Constable George Graham welcomed the report saying: "It is pleasing to note that the people of the Highlands and Islands have high levels of confidence in the police. We cannot work in isolation and it is vital that we have the trust and support of our communities. It is very important that we maintain such high levels of confidence in policing as we move into the single force in Scotland."
