Drug dealers targeted in Force's Operation Ram

NORTHERN Constabulary has seized £12,000 worth of drugs during an intelligence-led operation.
As part of Operation Ram' officers have spent the past 10 days targeting drug dealers at locations across the Highlands and Islands. Forty four people are being reported to the procurator fiscal.
Drugs, including heroin, cocaine, cannabis and amphetamine, were seized with a street value of approximately £12,000. In addition over £3,000 in cash and two small cannabis cultivations were recovered.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Mackay said: "This operation is a culmination of intelligence gathering by our officers and demonstrates our commitment to reduce the availability of controlled drugs and disrupt the ability of dealers to operate in our communities. Our activity does not end here as we will continue to pursue those involved in drug trafficking and organised crime utilising all assets at our disposal to detect and report those involved.
The detective added: "We are appreciative of the assistance received from the public and information provided contributes significantly to our investigations such as 'Operation Ram'. I would urge people to continue to support our efforts and contact us if they have any information about drug dealers and organised criminals.â€
A total of 43 properties were searched throughout the Force during this operation and 44 individuals will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with drug supply, possession and cultivation offences.
