Proceeds will help fund medical equipment in county

CAITHNESS Heart Support Group calendar for 2013 has launched its first colour calendar.
It features scenes of several parts of the county, the photos having been contributed, free of charge, by the Wick Camera Club and group members and friends.
The calendar, which would make an ideal Christmas present for exiles, is hot off the presses of Caithness Print Solutions and the group is in the process of organising outlets. Meanwhile the calendar is available from group secretary/treasurer, Marge Donaldson, on Wick 605545, price £5 (including envelope). Leave a message on the answerphone if no-one is available.
Group press secretary Noel Donaldson said: “It’s our first foray into the publishing world and, obviously, it hasn’t been able to feature every Caithness community. Hopefully, if the calendar proves successful, we would consider a follow-up.”
He added: “As well as providing a calendar which is a handy size for posting, all the proceeds will go into our fund for providing medical equipment locally, including Caithness General Hospital, so there’s a direct community benefit.”
As well as its fundraising, the group acts as a social forum for people with heart problems, and their families.
