    A firm that you never see this far north .but yet one of the biggest haulage contractor in britain or maybe even europe.

    arent most lorrys individually named as i know our local company D Steven and Sons each of their lorrys has a name

    i remeber watching a programme a few years back about this firm and they make more money from there merchandise now than they do from there haulage business, and as you say they are a v large contractor.

    i dont know if it is still the way but they wont or didnt use to employ female drivers

    Stobarts wagons are named by there drivers, you have to be with them for quite a while before you get your own wagon and most of the drivers name them after their wives or daughters.- useless but interesting info I know! but one of my relatives drive for them and had the pleasure of naming his own truck.
