    Cracking shots MPH - i enjoyed the eve and got some some pics that I'm real chuffed with - best I've managed so far. Thanks for the tips from you and Astroman.

    Cheers John,the conditions were great if a little breezy, and was surprised just how dark the skies were.Glad you got a few good shots.

    I might have had the idea (they don't come often!), but the execution was expertly done by yourself, so my part was a small one. Seeing how well you got it to turn out I might give it a try as a portrait star trails shot next time, but I will have to avoid flat camera batteries part way through the session next time

    Glad to be of help regarding the pic.You'll have your new camera to play with next time and the Canon batteries are longer lasting and dont take the huff in the cold like
    the batteries you currently have.
