Right royal day for Caithness
Tour will start at Castletown with opening of restored Backies cottages
PRINCE Charles is due in the far north next week, to carry out a series of engagements, during his annual break at the Castle of Mey, formerly the holiday home of his grandmother, the late Queen Mother.
His busy schedule will start at the village of Castletown, on Monday, where he will officially open two restored cottage, formerly used by
workers in the area's booming flagstone industry in the mid-19thcentury.
The Prince will also visit the offices of the North Highland Initiative, the development agency he launched in 2005, which supported the cottages venture, and will call at Sibster Farm, near Wick, later the same day.
The Duke of Rothesay will be back of duty, on August 4, as chieftain of the Mey Highland Games, he attends annually.
