Dangerous driving allegation

A THURSO man denied driving dangerously in the town and without L-plates and a qualified driver.
Darren Cooper (27) of Pennyland Drive, will stand trial on October 1.
The charges allege that at the junction of Sir George’s Street and Traill Street, Thurso, on May 3, he drove at an excessive speed, failed to stop when signalled to do so by police in a marked car, drove through a red light, around a blind corner on the wrong side of the road, crossed over three lanes narrowly missing a vehicle, before swerving to avoid a lorry in his path and then swerving into another road before having a clear view of it.

AN Oxfordshire driver nearly collided with three vehicles, it is alleged.

Roy Walker (50) of Salvia Close, Banbury, made no plea to a charge of dangerous driving an had his case continued until August 17.
The charge alleges that the van driver repeatedly crossed the white centre line on the A9 Causewaymire half-a-mile north of the Latheron junction, almost colliding with three vehicles and left the road and crashed into a ditch.

Speeder alleged to have travelled at 95mph without sight aids

A DRIVER was travelling at high speed without the sight aids he was duty bound to wear, it is alleged.
John Robertson, of Hospital Road, Wick, had his case continued without plea, until August 17.
Robertson (24) is accused of travelling at 95mph in a 60mph limit, on the A9 at Weydale, on May 12,
and failing to wear spectacles or contact lenses, he was required to do as a condition of his licence.
