Accused involved in 'mob' behaviour has to carry out unpaid work

Alexander Henderson got involved in a street stramash in Lybster, Wick Sheriff Court heard, this week.
He admitted threatening or abusive behaviour and a record of offending and was ordered to carry out 90 hours unpaid community work.
It was stated that the melee on June 16, in a house in Shelligoe Road, Lybster, followed an incident at a party, in a house and spilled out onto the street. Henderson (26) was living in the village at the time but has since moved to Forres and is staying at an hotel there.
Sentencing co-accused, Gary Anderson earlier in the week, Sheriff Andrew Berry commented: "I am sure that the people of Lybster don't appreciate mob behaviour like this, disrupting their law-abiding lives. I urge you not to participate in such an incident, again." Anderson (21)of Shelligoe Road, Lybster, was fined £375 after he admitted a similar charge.
In a separate case, Jamie Lewis (23) admitted threatening and abusive behaviour at the Park Hotel, Thurso, on March 31 and was ordered to carry out 90 hours unpaid community work.
Sheriff Andrew Berry warned Lewis, of Heathfield Road, Thurso, that, given his record, he was “always going to find himself facing the threat of going to prison”.
