    Default Mother admits child neglect

Toddler's room was unhygenic sheriff told

A CAITHNESS mother left her infant son in a room that was seriously unhygenic, Wick Sheriff Court was told today.
Rubbish bags were piled up in the upstairs room which smelled of vomit, the 18-month-old toddler’s cot was a mess and his milk bottles were left nearby.
The teenage mum admitted causing the boy unnecessary suffering, at her home on February 16, after she had consumed an unknown substance to such an extent, that she was unfit to care for him. Sentence was deferred for a background report, until August 13, when Sheriff Andrew Berry will hear details of the neglect
A plea of not guilty by the accused’s partner, was accepted by David Barclay, prosecuting. Neither accused can be named, for legal reasons.
