Looking for info on my grandfatherJames Coghill born 21/08/1884@Dunnett and his wifeEllen Jane Mowat born 1876, died 23/12/1909 at Greenland. Any help gratefully received.

Hi CPO173, I think that James Coghill (b. 21/08/1884) is the son of James Coghill (b. 1852, d. after 1881) who married Isabella Waters 08/08/1873 in Dunnet.
I will search if I have more information.

I can provide some information for your query as Helen Jane Mowat is a distant cousin of mine. I am researching the Mowats of Caithness (and a fair number of the families with whom they intermarried).

James Coghill was born abt 1885 and died 9 Apr 1917 in Arras, France. His parents were James and Isabella (ms unknown) of Lyth.
James m.(1) Helen Jane Mowat on 26 Dev 1908 at Inverness. Helen was born 22 Oct 1872 at Keiss and died 23 Dec 1909 at Greenland following an accident. Her parents were James Mowat and Isabella Miller.
James m.(2) Williamina Bruce. Williamina died abt 1947 at Thurso. Sorry, no info on her parents.
