    Hope they have not set up nest in the field next to you - had a few years of very troubled sleep due to calling.

    No, I live 7 miles away The cuckoo over the road, however, has woken me up at 4am two mornings in a row and is going to be on borrowed time soon!!!

    Never heard a corncrake but I often see a cuckoo as well as hear him it can be a bit irritating but he will soon be leaving.

    Yes Bill - ours called all night every night, so hope it does not appear here soon. Visitors thought it was excellent and unusual, they were only staying short term.
