    Default No Swallows

We usually have swallows nesting in our outbuildings but none so far this year!
Is the cold weather keeping them away?

We had our first arrivals in S E Kent about 10 days ago, numbers increasing daily, so my guess is they'll be with you soon

There were several Swallows around St. Johns Pool on Thursday, there was also a Cuckoo calling nearby.

Seen the first swallows of the season down at Reiss beach yesterday, but no cuckoo yet.

Still waiting patiently for ours. Shed door open and ready for their arrival. Last year's nests still in situ and with minimal effort will be ready for use. Can't wait to see them!

I am sad to say that there are no swallows here yet... I am getting worried.

In the 25 years I have lived here, I could almost set my watch for them arriving on or around May 1st. If they don't turn up, I will miss those cheeky little birds, especially when they tease the cats!!

Delighted to say that my Swallow's have now appeared!!

Added bonus tonight when one flew right in through the back door into the utility room!! Great excitement between my two cats and small dog - AND ME!! The frightened little thing was flapping at the window - I managed to catch it with ease - what a strong, beautiful little birdie!! I took it outside and away it flew to meet it's waiting mate - WONDERFUL!!
