Thread: Frogspawn

  1. #1

    Default Frogspawn

Been puzzling over a lump of frogspawn on the top of a strainer post. A friend tells me that a raptor or a heron (unlikely given the location) has probably eaten a frog, and the eggs, swelling up inside the bird have bec ome inconveniently bulky, and have been vomited.
Anyone else ever seen this, and who is the likely culprit?

Your friends probably right, it could also have been a gull.

Never thought of that - quite possible. I put them in apond, but I guess they will not hatch, being infertile
    Unfortunate frog!
