Group praises Co-op's generous customers

A COLLECTION taken at the Co-op store in Thurso, recently, raised the gratifying sum of £395.58 for Caithness Chest and Heart Support Group.
The total achieved in only six hours, exceeded expectations, filling two cans to the brim.
Group press officer, Noel Donaldson, commented: "Customers dug deep in their pockets and their generosity is greatly appreciated, particularly in the current economic climate when we are all having to watching our pennies especially when it comes to doing our shopping. Our thanks is also due to the Co-op management for their part in the successful collection."
Mr Donaldson added: "Quite a number of people took leaflets when they were making their donation among them those who had first-hand experience of problems and could relate to the work our organisation is doing in providing a social forum for folk waiting for chest and heart operations or who have had them and are looking to get back into the swing of things."
All money raised by the group is spent locally.
