    Default Madness

    Just read this story in the P&J of 2 men complaining to the police, saying that they found the queens speech racist due to the fact they believe the national anthem(being played in the background) contains racial lyrics

    See the story here - http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/dis...entPK=11556970

    "There has been some suggestion recently that the offending verse, which glorifies the 'crushing' of 'rebellious Scots' was dropped, but I have since learned this is not the case. There is no doubt in my mind that if the word Scots was replaced by any other ethnic group in the country then rightly there would be an absolute outcry."
    Does anyone else agree with this??

    It's a prime example of Political Correctness taken too far, years ago no one thought like that.

    hiya have looked up the lyrics and found this
    The National Anthem
    God save our gracious Queen,
    Long live our noble Queen,
    God save the Queen!
    Send her victorious,
    Happy and Glorious,
    Long to reign over us;
    God save the Queen!

    O Lord our God arise,
    Scatter her enemies
    And make them fall;
    Confound their politics,
    Frustrate their knavish tricks,
    On Thee our hopes we fix,
    Oh, save us all!

    Thy choicest gifts in store
    On her be pleased to pour;
    Long may she reign;
    May she defend our laws,
    And ever give us cause
    To sing with heart and voice,
    God save the Queen!

    Not in this land alone,
    But be God's mercies known,
    From shore to shore!
    Lord make the nations see,
    That men should brothers be,
    And form one family,
    The wide world over

    From every latent foe,
    From the assassins blow,
    God save the Queen!
    O'er her thine arm extend,
    For Britain's sake defend,
    Our mother, prince, and friend,
    God save the Queen!

    I don't think the offending lyric was pointed at the Scots in general, but was pointed at the 'rebellious' ones.

    I think the link below may explain things

    http://www.sovereignty.org.uk/featur...s/monscot.html
    God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
    Courage to change the things I can,
    And wisdom to know the difference.
