Traffic diverted along a single track road

THE A9 was blocked for several hours on Saturday after a fish lorry slewed across the road just south of Berriedale and turned on its side.
The vehicle, which is thought to have hit a patch of ice, ended up on its side with it cab on the verge and the trailer, carrying 14 tonnes of fish, wedged across the road. The driver was uninjured.
Traffic was diverted along a single track side road for most of the day. The main route was reopened at 5pm.
A crane was used to lift the trailer clear and the fish was transferred to another lorry which took the consignment on to the Continent.
