    Default Laptop Repair

    Hi

Can anyone recommend someone to repair my aged laptop, it seems to have died and I am desparate to retrieve some files and photos.

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Are you thinking of repair,
1: purely to retrieve files, or
2: for continued use of the laptop?

If "1" then consider removing the disk and getting a USB caddy for it.
This assumes that it's not the disk that has 'died'.

    thought i'd update this

    tosca

brought the lappy around 2 the other night
    HDD had smart warning
    not booting at all.
after several runs through with chkdsk
got the MBR & fat recovered
managed to get off all of the users files under their profile
tried several times with known & trust tools to fix the HHD
    no go

    returned to user.
