    Liking the 1st one MPH.........been playing here with the new camera and managed a few 1/2 decent shots of the conjunction.

    Its not the easiest to take a shot of.The full moon is so much brighter than anything else you have in the shot.
    The usual mistake is to greatly overexpose the moon so as to show up some detail of the darker parts of the scene.
    You can overexpose so long as the moon keeps its shape,if it turns into a big glaring ball then the exposure is probably twice as long
    as it should be.
    I got lucky with the church one because the moon was behind thin hazy cloud.
    The second one was clear and you can see the diffraction spikes,caused naturally by the lens,not a filter.
    Its usually a good guide that your focus and exposure are pretty good.
    Also the higher the f number,the bigger or more prominent the spikes get.

    Great shots MPH, you seem to have a way with the night-time shots. I think they would both make good Christmas cards.

    Thanks nirofo,if i had to pick a favourite type of photography then it would be night time.
