Careless driving charge
Driver alleged to have been too slow at junction
AN elderly Caithness driver has been accused of driving carelessly at a town junction and causing an accident, by driving too slow.
Eighty-seven year old William Noss Clyne pleaded not guilty at Wick Sheriff Court, today, and the case was continued to an interim hearing on November 25.
The charge alleges that while negotiating the Francis Street/Dempster Street junction on March 29, Clyne, of The Lodge, Noss, near Wick, pulled away after an undue delay when the traffic lights turned green and proceeded at such a slow speed through the crossroads that it resulted in a collision with another vehicle.
