Confused Kennedy/Wares Kennedy/Bremner

Hi I have started a new thread for this enquiry
I am totally confused
My Great Grandfather is John Kennedy b about 1850 m Jane Jack
I have him as being the son of John Kennedy and Isabella Wares m 1855 which makes him born out of wedlock
However John Kennedy b1821 m Isabella Bremner in 1848 Did they have a son John Kennedy born about 1850
Is it possible that I have my Isabellas muddled up? (Help)
John and Jane had a daughter Isabella Bremner Kennedy Would this be a direct reference to Isabella Bremner m John Kennedy 1848 or to Johns parents who I believe were David Kennedy and Isabella Bremner (more confusion)

Have you got the marriage cert for John and Jane - it would confirm parents.
I have 2 John's b c 1821 in Canisbay. One to David K & Isabel Bremner and one to John K & Elizabeth Hendry.

Anyway I have John (son of John & Eliz) a widow in 1851 son John aged 1 with him at Heather Canisbay.
His daughter's Catharine and Isabella are elsewhere. Isabella 1month old as a niece with Dunnet family and Catharine aged 2 with her gparents Alex Bremner CAth Sutherland. Therefore Isabella Bremner wife of JOhn Kennedy died just before census either in childbirth or soon after.
John K marrying Isabella Wares 1855 is found in 1861 Census with children John & Isabella and new Children to Is Wares. daug Catherine married John Gulloch in 1872.
This John Kennedy died 1898.

John son of David K & Is Bremner(another IB) married once Eliz Mowat in 1857. he died 1913.

in 1841 census both John's were apprenctice in Wick - Lodgers together: JOhn died 1898 being Shoemaker(he later is Farmer/fisher) John died 1913 Carpenter later Boat Builder.
I imagine Johns' may have been cousins. Not yet checked. Let me know what you think - I have some certs etc and census data is available.
PLEASE correct me if I am wrong. There are several trees on ancestry.co.uk with the wrong data.

Hi I don't have marrige certs for John and Jane but the John Kennedy I am looking for is the one who married Isabella Bremner then Isabella Wares Son of John
Kennedy and Elizabeth Hendy I think it was all the different trees on ancestry that were confusing me.
Possible you can give me ref for death of John 1898 I will sift thro all the census information and gather the neccessary but any certs you have that i could have a look at would be great. Photos would be a really good bonus as I have none

Marriage 1871 John Kennedy who married Jane Jack was the son of John K & Isabella Bremner.
He was a joiner in Mey Canisbay when they married 15th August 1871 Scarfskerry according to forms of Baptist Church.

Jane Jack b 6 Nov 1852 died 1895.
Parents Alex Jack 1816 -1892 and Margaret Paterson c1820 -1905
Alex J and Margaret P had siblings who also married ie Elizabeth Jack 1813 -1889 m John Paterson 1810 -1863
John & Eliz line is my interest.

I will sort the Scottish certs I have for yours. you need to send me email address by private message.
NB anyone else searching other JOHN KENNEDY b1821 died 27 Apr 1913 - the one who married Eliz Mowat in 1857 was single in 1851. Ship Carpenter living with his parents David and Isabella.

Your John b 1872 in Glasgow (lived in Caithness 1881/91 his marriage in Ulverston - does this give his parents? I am just curious how you know the names of his parents! Just for confirmation.

Anyway Jane Jack died 1895 and by 1901 John Kennedy is in Barrow in furness married to Betsy aged 44 .. He still a Joiner and has 6 Kennedy children and 5 Robinson stepchildren showing.

John born 1872 was my dads grandfather and this information has come from him(my dad) and also from others in the family.
Also I think we have his birth cert in the UK certainly his death cert

I believe that David Kennedy who married Isabellla Bremner and John Kennedy who married Elizabeth Henry were brothers and the sons of John Kennedy and Helen Bremner.

Yes that is what I have

Get so confusing at times especially when sites like ancestry have folks just copying blindly.
Now this Kennedy also link to the GUNNS from Sarclet. With Charlotte Kennedy m George Gunn.....more is anyone wants.
I am off to update my tree with bits now and sort some data for Jill.

George Gunn born 17 Jul 1858 m 29 Jan 1886 in Canisbay to Charlotte Kennedy b 22 Dec 1861. he 25 Pulteneytown she 23 Freswick.
George b Sarclet, Wick. the son of William Gunn and Mary Morrison (Nb they had another son Geo b 22 Jun 1855 died 31 Oct 1856.)
Deaths:43 Vansittart St
Charlotte 22 Mar 1920 KENNEDY CHARLOTTE GUNN F 56 WICK /CAITHNESS 043/00 0037
George 27 Feb 1923 GUNN GEORGE M 60 WICK /CAITHNESS 043/00 0031
NB ages given on deaths on these cert must be wrong???. as do some census - the only birth found for Charlotte is 22 Dec 1861(and no death for that one ).
1881 Census for Charlotte is correct age for 1861 birth.
For George : Note the ancestry.co.uk census has birth place wrong for family 1871 - it says born Latheron .

1911 census has Geo & Charlotte aged 48 and 47 - Had 6 children ( 4 sons and 2 daughters ) by 1911.

Thanks for the data. There are discrepancies in the dates but my information has just come from family, and has not been verified elsewhere. I will look further to see what I might find.

My line comes from William, (son of George and Charlotte) b. 13 Jan 1887 d. 7 Nov 1970 and was a Postman.
I would appreciate knowing if there is an online tree which I could follow.

Looking at my family tree and working on my grandparents and g grandparents and gg granparents. Charlotte Kennedy is my great grand aunt. Her father John Kennedy is my 2nd great grandfather who was married twice Firstly to Isabella Bremner my 2nd great grandmother and then to Isabella Wares Charlottes mother. I do have an online tree on Ancestry but it is more the Kennedy line . However if you would like to view it drop me a line with your e mail and i will invite you (Its a private tree.) What relation do you think we are?
