Hello everyone Nice to meet you.
I am looking for any information on John Kennedy born c.1850 in Canisbay and married Jane Jack 15 August 1871 in Dunnett He was the son of John Kennedy and Isabella Bremner married 1848 (I think)
They had a son John J Kennedy born 1872 in Glasgow (my grandfather)
Any help, corrections or anything would be absolutely wonderful

Hi Nice to meet you too. Here he is in 1861 with his family in Canisbay. His mother's maiden name is Wares - you thought Bremner - can this be right ? Are the siblings correct ? Thank you for the information It is more than useful. I also had the name Wares but had got sidetracked by someone sending me a tree with all the same names but wrong dates. So thank you for this I will now hopefully go down the correct route. There are so many Kennedys that it is really confusing.
John Kennedy b 1850 m Jane Jack His father was John Kennedy b1821 or 1823 m Isabella Wares and his father I believe was David Kennedy b 1798 m Isobel Bremner
If you or anyone can help more I would be eternally grateful

Jane Jack is an ancestor of mine. Sarah Jordan has info the family here:

The tree is the Jack side though, not the Kennedy side.

Thank you for the Jack website Totally fascinating and I have been able to sort some dates out.
Jane Jack is my great grandmother on my fathers side she married John Kennedy 1871 had son John Kennedy 1872 who in turn married twice and had my father David 1923 (from his second marriage)
If Jane Jack is an ancestor of yours are we related in some distant way?

John Kennedy born 22 2 1872 in Anderston Glasgow I don't know how long they were here for but other children born after 1872 in Dunnet and Wick as far as I can make out. Later moved to Barrow in Furness Lancs
I honestly don't know if he worked on the railways
At the moment most of the info I have is in the UK (I live in Spain) and until we move back I can't get hold of bibles and certificates etc

Jane Jack's father, Alexander was brother to my gggf, William who married Elizabeth Leisk.

I think that makes us 3rd or 4th cousins.

Have a marr. cert 1855 Freswick. Canisbay for john Kenedy and Isabel Wares, also some info on this branch as A John Kennedy marr. Wick1926 a Miss Mcleod who is my 2C2R.
