    Thanks for getting back to me .
    I have a small camera that uses a SD card and I can play the clip on the camera but when I import the AVI file into premiere there is only the sound comes on and no video. files from my small still/video Samsung camera works ok.
    Any idea what could be causing this

    Brian, sounds like you have a missing video codec. (but you have the audio codec - hence when audio only)

    Could be but when I go into bridge to import it I can view the video. and why 2 different AVI files 2 cameras one works and the other doesn't . can't understand this.it works in windows movie maker

    Which version of Premiere are you using? If I have any issues I tend to go the the Adobe Forums / specific product area etc.
