Scottish Wildcat?

I think I saw a Scottish wildcat tonight out at Dounreay. The animals eyes were massive in the headlights and very much coloured like a streetlamp, amber coloured. It was the size of a fox and perhaps moved a little like one at a trot. But when the animal turned into profile the muzzle was more cat like and the coat was grey and the tail was ringed like a lemurs but bushy like a fox.
When I slowed down to take a better look I would have sworn it was like an ocelot or something but thick furred but much much bigger than a domestic tabby lol.
