Stopping On The Way / Colours
STOPPING ON THE WAY
One warm and sunny day I felt the urge
To rest from Life’s Highway
To slow right down and start to feel
All colours, scents and flavours that I’d lost
And off the road, I found a different world!
COLOURS
Pink blushes on pale grey backdrop
While yellow orb climbs to ascendancy
Blackness receding, spectrum opening
A fine Summer’s Day.
Bluebirds, Yellowhammers, Red Squirrels
Brown Thrushes, white swans, Pink Flamingos
Grey Geese, Greenfinches, Blackbirds
Nature paints the world with colour
Which brightens up our lives
And makes it such a vibrant place
So why do it we spoil?
"A family tree can wither if nobody tends it's roots"
