    Unhappy red food colouring

    is it me or is more finding that when you buy Red food colouring nowadays it turns out Orange. I wanted to get pink icing one day and went to both Co.op and Tesco's and both bottles with RED written on it turns out orange, what can I do

    The Dr Oetger red is very red

    I use food colouring paste much stronger colour you only need a tiny bit, think Serendipity does it if not eBay

    MacDonald's Bakery in Wick also sell a range of food paste colours, cheers

    I have had loads of red foodcolouring used in our house in all kinds of baking and none has gone orange on us...we have had everything from pale pink to barbie pink for icing and either use the supercook or the dr okter (sp) Both are good for everyday baking with the kids, but for something special buy the pastes and glitters ......

    it is Dr Oetker Natural Red that I have, but will go to MacDonald's Bakery in Wick next time am down, and have a look in Serendipity.
