Fire threat by accused alleged

A MAN, who is alleged to have threatened two children saying he would set his dog on them and burn down their homes, is to stand trial later this month.
James Ronaldson Mackay (43) appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court, today, and denied a breach of the peace, on indictment. The charge, which also accuses him of shouting and swearing, is alleged to have occurred between Nicolson Street and Roxburgh Road, Wick, on May 13.
The trial, before a sheriff and jury has been switched to Tain Sheriff Court, because of a post office robberies case, which opens next week at the Wick court and could take up to six weeks.
Mackay, whose address was given as a prisoner at Inverness Prison, was remanded in custody pending his trial on August 22nd.
