    Default Stranded whales safe

    Save pilot whales operation successful

ALL the remaining pilot whales which were
stranded in the area of the Kyle of Durness have now been re-floated.
Personnel from the various agencies involved in this incident are remaining on stand-by at the scene, as it is feared there is a possibility some of the whales may again become stranded at low water.
The police would like to thank the personnel from all the agencies involved in this incident, as well as members of the public who volunteered, for their efforts in assisting to re-float the stranded whales.
    * Missing Thurso man, Daniel Sirrel has turned up safe and well. He was traced by police in the Oxford area.
