Not quite good enough?...oh yes he is!
A Limousin-cross bullock didn’t live up to its name at the Latheron Show on Saturday...and her owners were DELIGHTED about that.
For Not quite good enough not only won the commercial and supreme cattle sections but went on lift the coveted champion- of- champions titles. Out of a Belgian Blue cow, he did Mark and Debby Munro proud.
The couple run a 600 acre holding at Invercharron Farm, Ardgay, explained his unusual name.
They rate him decent but, at first they thought he was “just missing something”, and, so far as showing went, they were both agreed, he would “not be quite good enough”.
Mr Munro said: “He’s gradually improved and after today we should probable change his name.”
The sheep championship went to a five-crop ewe by a Bardnaclavan sire, from Stainland and Sibmister Farm. It topped its class at the Royal Highland Show and bred last year’s supreme champion at Latheron.
The horse champion championship was won by Stemster Millennium Bug, a 12-year-old mare from L. and C. Coghill’s Stemster stable.
D.S. Meikle, East Mey, took the goats championship with a seven-year-old British Toggenburg female,Guilden Bonbon.
The poultry best went to Stephen Stuart, Bardnaheigh, Halkirk, and Natalie Oag, from Lyth triumphed in the rabbits competition.
