As you can see lots to choose from. This is the one that I have found to be very good, having tried others.

If its free virus protection you want then go for either avast or AVG but if its full protection then AVG is the best. Both my partner and i have tried different ones but have always gone back to AVG.

AVG is very good at stopping things coming in while avast is good for dealing with anything that gets in. So for free software i'd suggest using both.

Also never ever rely on the windows firewall always use something else for your firewall. The microsoft firewall was cracked long time ago and isn't safe to be relied on.

The free version of Avast is excellent, it's never let me down. AVG is also pretty good, but Avast gets the gold star from me.

AVG Free is my own recommendation but is also a good idea to install the free Malwarebytes package and run a full scan every 4 - 6 weeks, as they both help keep your system running smoothly.

Malawarebytes only occasionally picks things up on my PC.
I run Glary utilities and it picks up lots of stuff every time and makes a big difference.
