Default How your firm could benefit from Barclays Scottish Open

Golf workshop could boost your business at the Barclays Open

HIGHLAND businesses are set to benefit from an internationally acclaimed workshop that is designed to help them capitalise on The Barclays Scottish Open which takes place at the Castle Stuart Links, Inverness from July 7th to 10th.
Organised by Business Gateway Highland & Moray, ‘The World Host Ambassador’ workshop will highlight how exceeding visitor expectations will not only benefit local companies during the event but long after the last ball has been played.
The internationally recognised workshop – which was developed to give businesses based in British Columbia a competitive edge during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics – is aimed at hospitality, tourism, leisure and retail businesses, and will run in Inverness on June 16th and Nairn on June 21st.
Stuart Black, Director of Planning and Development, Highland Council, said: “The Barclays Scottish Open will bring thousands of people to the Highlands, providing businesses with a huge opportunity to increase their bottom line and show the world just how fantastic the region is. The workshop, which has never been offered in the Highlands before, has a proven track record of success. It will show local companies how to build on the warm welcome they already provide to help create a lasting impression that will benefit their business – and the region – for years to come.”
The free workshop, which runs for three hours from 1.30 p.m. in the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Inverness and in a location to be confirmed in Nairn, will provide attendees with:
    · Information and insight to support their business to help them exceed visitor expectations during the time of the tournament and beyond,
    · Help business owners realise how powerful their connection to a visitor can be,
    · Understand how their interaction with visitors will remain as a lasting impression,
    · Build on their current strengths as representatives of their business and region.
Delivered by Marina Huggett, Lead Consultant, of the Tourism Excellence Consultancy based in Inverness, the seminar will also provide attendees with the highly regarded WorldHost Ambassador certificate and pin.
Marina said: “Hosting one of the biggest events in the Scottish golf calendar provides local companies with a unique opportunity to showcase what a wonderful service industry the region has. The workshop has been designed to help customer facing organisations put in place the right structures that will ensure visitors receive the warmest welcome and help increase sales. We’d also like to thank Fraser Peterkin at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Inverness for providing the venue for free for our first workshop.”
To find out more about the event and to book a place on either the Inverness or Nairn workshop please contact Margaret Donald either via email margaret@inverness.uk.com or call 01463 714550.
Workshop spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
