Police lead on clothing bank theft

POLICE in the Far North investigating the mean theft of a Salvation Army clothing bank, say they are following a positive line of inquiry.
THE metal receptacle, weighing half-a-tonne, disappeared from its stance, next to the Britannia Hall, Dunnet, recently.
Northern Constabulary say the theft would have required some organisation and equipment to remove the 6ft x 6ft bank and a vehicle, as well as lifting gear, would have had to have been employed. It is thought that the thieves main interest would have been in the scrap value of the bank.
The police have made a renewed appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch with them on Wick 603551 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
