Vessel rescued in north emergency

THURSO lifeboat rescued a 30ft vessel after it got into trouble and was in danger of running aground.
The tender Tiger, on contract to Dounreay had been sheltering in Sandside Bay when its propeller fouled late on Friday night. Its anchor failed to hold in force five to six north-westerly winds and it started drifting towards the shore.
Volunteer coastguards from Melvich stood by as the lifeboat got a line on board the Tiger and pulled her clear. She was towed to Scrabster.
