Thread: New maternity model

  1. #1

    Default New maternity model

How does this proposed new maternity model affect the consultation process which is currently underway? Does it make it redundant or will they now have to go through the whole process again? Or, does it mean that they will just say 'this is what we have formulated in response to your requests and therefore that is what you are getting'.

It seems a good start to resolving the issue but have the people affected been consulted about this proposal and do they support it (eg midwives, existing surgeons and theatre staff)

Can anyone in the know, NAG or councillers, comment?

Has anybody considered that, where a problem occurs and all the fancy gadgets at Raigmore are not required that the Consultant be brought to Caithness.
That must be easier and quicker than shipping heavily pregnant women around half of the Highlands and much safer I would have thought.
Of course, it could be that the Consultants at Raigmore feel they are too important for such treatment as being expected to go to the patient instead of the other way round.
Animals I like, people I tolerate.
