Speeder clocked at Halkirk at over 100mph

A DRIVER has been caught travelling at over 100mph during a police campaign.
The 39-year-old was clocked at 113mph, near Halkirk, and will be the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.
The offender was just one of a large number of motorists caught, either speeding or driving without seatbelts, during the latest crackdown, by Northern Constabulary this week.
Sixteen other drivers were booked for speeding, between 7am on Wednesday and 7am today, and 64 were not wearing a seatbelt.
A concerned Inspector John Smith, Head of the Force's Road Policing Unit, said: "The fact that we are catching so many people, clearly shows that our message is being ignored by a number of people. They continue to put themselves and other road users at real risk and we will take robust action against anyone caught breaking either law. We have a responsibility to keep running campaigns like this.”
