    Default recipe for skirlie

When I lived at home Mum made skirlie or mealie jimmy as she called it. You know, oatmea, onion etc. I have made it several times but never seem to get it as good as dear old Mum Any ideas?

I use pinhead oatmeal lightly toasted if that helps ...
2 handfulls to an onion and use beef dripping or suet ....depends on what your Mum used, that, will help you pinpoint where you are going wrong to get it like your Mum does.
