    Default North Pier Wick

Can anyone tell me where all the steel girders came from and how they got up to Wick?
    Surely not by road!!
It's certainly a very impressive job, let's hope it last for many years to come.

Hope it's soon. That piledriver was driving me up the wall.

Are they going to be doing the south pier as well?
    It does look good though.

Homeboy - thank you for your reply.
I asked because down here where I live lots and lots of huge lorries have been going through the town - two at a time, laden with Girders - no Police Escort nowadays of course, and causing great hold-ups. As I sit in the traffic quietly fuming my only peace of mind was the hope that the Girders were heading for Wick ! To watch the lorries being navigated round our old town by a couple of men madly waving their arms and shouting to the driver as they dashed from side to side, is entertaining in istself.
Thank you too 'tides of pentland firth' but here I feel sea sick........must dash!

But will it stop Wick being washed away outside the Riverside?
Animals I like, people I tolerate.

I Think the answer is a Breakwater not sure where the money for this project would come from though , maybe they could build a wave power/Breakwater

hope this project at wick is going to be more sturdy than the new pier at scrabster! it looks like it is going to be ongoing repairs and replacement there. cracks in the concrete, the pilings cracked in places etc etc
