    Default Fatal road accident

Fatal crash victims named by the police
THE two victims of a fatal road accident, near Castletown, late, last night, were named by police, this afternoon.
They were 17-year-old passenger Connor Craigie, of Dwarick Place, Dunnet, and driver Graham Scott, 33, of Springpark Terrace, Thurso. Both were call centre assistants.
Emergency services raced to the scene of the crash, on the Castletown-Dunnet road, but were unable to save the two occupants of the car involved, a Subaru Impreza, who were pronounced dead. The vehicle struck the parapet of a bridge and ended up on its roof on an embankment.
The road was closed for ten hours as Northern Constabulary’s road policing unit began an investigation into the crash and a diverson was set up.
All next-of-kin have been informed, say the police who added that the families are not making any statement about the tragedy. The force has appealed for anyone driving on the A836, from 10pm onwards to get in touch with them.
A report on the accident will be submitted to the procurator fiscal at Wick, in due course.
