    Default Blackcap?

    Spotted this guy last week but only managed to get a photo today.
    Unfortunately photo taken through a window so not very clear.
    Had a look on the RSPB website and think it matches a Blackcap.
    Seem to be rare for up here at this time of year.

    Hi Lensman, Yes that's a male Blackcap. A few overwinter, I had one in the garden in Thurso on Christmas day a few years ago.

    we have one that taken to living in our garden the last few weeks we also had one last year wonder if it's the same one

    We get a mating couple every year - the male arriving first. I don't know if they breed round here as we never see them with babies.
